Fish On Lodge offers a variety of fishing adventures. We offer fly fishing and rod and reel fishing for everything from King salmon to arctic grayling. You even have the possibility of creating a special adventure if you don’t see something tailored to your desires.

King salmon fishing is offered out of our main lodge located in Koliganek. We try to keep our king groups from 2 to 6 fisherman. We only take YOUR GROUP at a time so you will have our full attention. King fishing is done from mid June to mid July. The Nushagak River has the largest run of king salmon in the world. We get runs of over 200,000 kings a year! Chum salmon and red salmon run at the same time as kings so they will be available to fish as well.

Silver salmon fishing is offered from our main lodge in Koliganek, or one our remote cabins on the Nushagak. One of our camps up river from Koliganek is used for larger groups of people who want to focus on silvers and catch rainbows, grayling, and pike as well. Silver fishing can be done from a very remote cabin about 4 and half hours up river from Koliganek as well.

Rainbow, grayling, arctic char, and pike fishing can be done at all our locations. The very best fly fishing for rainbows, grayling, and char is done from a remote cabin on the upper Nushagak. Only 2 to 4 fisherman can access this location at one time. The upper Nushagak will be the best rainbow fishing that can be found anywhere in Alaska.

Methods used vary from fly fishing to drifting eggs. We believe in having the ability to fish a variety of methods in case the fishing conditions favor one over another. We can fish with spinners or plugs if the conditions present themselves. The best thing is that we have all the tackle you’ll need. You don’t have to worry about spending hundreds of dollars on tackle that you might not use or just use once. The fisherman always has the last word on a technique they would prefer to use. If clients don’t like using plugs and backdrafting and would prefer to bounce eggs then that is what they do. We will never force a client to fish a method they are not comfortable with.

Fisherman can choose between fly fishing and spin fishing during any of the fishing adventures. Silvers, rainbows, grayling, and char are easier to catch on a fly rod than on spin fishing tackle due to the type of presentation that a fly delivers. You don’t have to be an expert fly fisherman to have success at Fish On Lodge.

It is possible to stay at two different locations if you choose to fish for silvers or rainbows during your stay at Fish On Lodge. For example, during a 7-day trip you could choose to stay some nights along the river at one of the other camps.

All fishing adventures are typically done in 3, 5, or 7-day trips. However, trips can be set up for more then 7 days. Refer to the fishing schedule for prices. Large groups do receive a discount.
